Top Cognitive Trainer Wins National Award

Local Trainer in Cognitive Skills Wins National Award
What does this card have to do with all the others? Elliot Weiner challenges students to figure it out.

The Learning Rx Brain Training Center specializes in developing cognitive skills, and no one is more enthusiastic about the learning process than Elliot Weiner. Weiner has been a dedicated trainer at the Maple Grove branch since its inception in 2010, and this year, Weiner won the honor of Top Trainer at the institution’s national conference. Weiner rose above 800 other contenders, perhaps because of his phenomenal stats: Exit tests revealed that his students averaged an increase of 3.73 school years’ worth of cognitive ability and his satisfaction score from parents averages 9.53 (on a scale form 1-10).

Testimonials from parents have been unstintingly glowing, employing words such as compassion, strength, dedication, and engagement. A master’s degree candidate in social psychology, Weiner’s favorite training tool is the Reasoning Brain Cards “which help students develop more advanced logic and reasoning skills through working on a fun, interactive game.”

Weiner has graduated 17 students so far, and is training four more. “I have been very impressed by his dedication and work ethic,” says Center director Bobbie Kullas, “not only is Elliot an effective team member who is respected by his peers, he is well liked by his students and their parents. He is a resourceful, solution-oriented person.”
