Summer Fashion in Maple Grove

The sweaters are gone, the rain coats put away, and it’s time to freshen up your work attire. Brittani Swedberg, store manager at Clothes Mentor in Maple Grove, weighs in on some of the Dos and Don’ts of the summer. “Blouses are going to be an “in” this year,” Swedberg says, “the flowing ones with silk, patterns and ruffles, but make sure you don’t drown in the fabric.” She says to be sure to keep your blouses fitted so they don’t look like pajama tops. Color blocking and tropical colors such as emeralds, blues and purples with red and peach accents are all the rage for summer styles. And, since the summer is hot, shaped cut outs on tops are the perfect way to keep cool and stay classy. But, Swedberg warns, be careful not to over accessorize. Busy graphic leggings are out this season, as well as cropped tops. The mantra for the summer: sleek, simple, bright and bold.
