Each dog sleeps in a private kennel on a comfortable Kuranda bed. They can frolic in a large area with more energetic dogs or dally in a domain for smaller, older or less active guests. Dogs must complete a temperament test and evaluation and owners must complete all appropriate paperwork before receiving approval for a stay. Max can enjoy some socializing long-term daycare for $25 and overnight boarding for $35. 9707 63rd Ave. N.; 763.746.8563

She specializes in temperament, relationship and behavioral issues in both puppies and adult dogs. She conducts in-home consultations, where a comprehensive, individualized plan can be developed.

Shaggy Dog Grooming
Although you may see a shaggy dog enter the Shaggy Dog Grooming salon, you won’t recognize the clean-cut pup in its exit. After your pet undergoes dremeling (nail filing), ear cleaning, expression of their anal glands, a cut and bath with specialty shampoo (medicated for skin problems, allergy or oatmeal shampoo for sensitive skin), conditioner, the furminator (which removes dead hair) and a final hand drying, you may not recall which dog you arrived with.
“Our groomers are constantly trained in the latest styles and specialize in hand scissoring,” says owner Patti Swanson. They groom celebrities’ dogs, and some of their client dogs are celebrities—showing up on TV and in magazines.
Smaller breeds are a mere $44 for full grooming. Larger breeds can take two appointments and cost $85. While most shops dry animals with blowers in a kennel, Shaggy Dog always hand dries for results that look nicer and, they assure, are safer for your dog. 7488 E. Fish Lake Rd.; 763.494.4270
