Moms, stretch your legs and put on your running shoes. The Maple Grove/Champlin chapter of Moms RUN This Town (MRTT) is rapidly growing in its first year, and they want you running with them. The national organization started with a stay-at-home mom in Georgia three years ago, and has since spread throughout the states. Helping running moms through online support and local chapters, this organization is a great way to get healthy and active. Chapter leader Kandi Ganoe says that most moms are nervous to start running again, but once they get involved in the welcoming atmosphere, they can’t stop. “MRTT is just one way I can help others,” she says. “That is what MRTT is about—inspiration, and fun!” Currently, the chapter has 60-plus members ranging from marathon runner to more casual runners. “Whatever skill level you are, we have a place for you.” Ganoe says.  To join the chapter, request to be a member of their Facebook.
