Three Rivers Park District makes ice fishing easy for beginners.

Three Rivers Park District offers ice fishing program for beginners.
What might you catch at the Beginner Ice Fishing class this month?

For fishing enthusiasts 8 years and older, this program is sure to have you baiting for more. Outdoor recreation educator Jennifer Plaster will emphasize ice safety, including letting others know where you are going and how to test the ice. Learn how to use an ice auger, what jigs and bait work best for reeling in that big catch, and equipment types and costs. “Once people go through our programs, they have the base knowledge to feel confident to go out on their own,” says Dan Fjell of Three Rivers Park District.

The program will take place outdoors, so be sure to dress appropriately. Only 20 participants will be allowed to attend, so register today for a chance to have a fun afternoon on the lake.
