With summer slowly slipping away, it’s important to saver every last glimpse of the fleeting season. After the beauty of the fall foliage fades into the dead of a Minnesota winter, this image by local photographer Tim Brown is going to come in handy for some much-needed inspiration.
Nothing says summer in Minnesota like a wide-open lake. “The scene captures the energy and warmth of a Minnesota summer day,” says Brown, who snapped this shot of Weaver Lake one morning last August.
Brown and his family live nearby the local park/beach, which aside from the scenic lake, offers countless outdoor activities—including biking trails, a volleyball court, playground and picnic area. “It’s just a great, clean, well-laid-out space,” says Brown.
The sky and clouds complement the water, but the buoys are Brown’s favorite part of the shot. “Each one catches the light a little differently,” he says. “Together, the orbs almost act like pieces of floating sculpture as they each reflect on the water.”
Now, that’s a summer scene to saver.
