Maple Grove Days 2011

From food to fireworks, there's plenty to enjoy at our city's annual festival.

From the Diaper Derby to the Rice Lake Classic Run to the Bed Races, we love being on the move during Maple Grove Days. Here’s how to navigate one of the best weekends of the summer.

Kick things off at the Pierre Botineau Parade on Thursday evening, and keep an eye on the sky for a special surprise. On Friday, teens can drop in for capture the flag, playing across 3 miles of trails at the Town Green. Shop the Art Fair Saturday, and vote for the coolest classic at the car show, and then check out the inaugural beanbag toss tournament (called cornhole by those in the know). Take a short hop to the community center for fun and games, but don’t forget to stay for the hot dog-eating contest! For those craving a live concert, the Town Green will have the winner of the teen Battle of the Bands and the Riverside Swing Band to get you dancing around.
