Pink is in the air this October—or, more specifically—pink is at The Shoppes. To honor Breast Cancer Awareness next month, The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes is hosting its third annual Girls’ Night Out event October 6 and allocating all proceeds to benefit the Hope Chest for Breast Cancer.
This year, The Shoppes will be swarming with discounts from participating retailers and restaurants. Along with live entertainment and a pink carpet entrance for guests, taste complimentary appetizers from California Pizza Kitchen and Qdoba with on-site sampling of the most popular menu items. Free gift bags—this year featuring a pink lunch cooler—will be handed out to each attendee and will include such goodies as a the world’s best (pink) pizza cutter.
Jennie Zafft, marketing director at The Shoppes, says Girls’ Night is perfect for “local restaurants looking for a fun event that helps a great cause.” Her goal this year is to attract more than 500 attendees—which would amount to more than $5,000 going directly to Hope Chest for Breast Cancer. The organization provides funding to under-served women and their families touched by breast cancer, and all money raised in the Twin Cities stays in this community. Last year, the proceeds raised by Girls’ Night Out helped pay for 20 mammograms not covered by state programs. This year’s event would help fund 50 nutritional delivered meals for a week or pay for rent, food and utilities for a month for three families.
