This is only the Town Green’s second summer in Maple Grove, and it’s already a wildly popular landmark. With a booked schedule of entertainment, there seems to be something exciting happening there 24/7.
An educator in the Osseo area schools, Tim Brown just happened to snap this shot at a rare time when the entertainment hub was deserted last August. “It was just a quiet, sunny day, and I had my camera on me at the library,” Brown says. “I always loved the work around the plaza there and noticed there were no people around, so I took a few shots.”
Brown enjoys taking photos of the sky, and in this case he used the dark clouds to help frame the cleverly designed structure. “I think I lucked out on the composition of it,” he says of the photo. “There is a nice contrast of crisp manmade straight and curved lines against the natural elements of the grass and sky.”
Brown says he likes the landmark’s open and inviting feel, and how it manages to integrate and enhance the landscape: “It represents much of the way Maple Grove is designed—user-friendly, aesthetically appealing with minimal impact to the environment.”
