1) Comedy on the Green
Charming crowds spanning from San Francisco to Boston, Kevin Meaney makes his mark in town at 8 p.m. July 21. Hopefully he will share a story or two on his parents (they’re a hoot!) like he did when he was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last year.
2) Maple Grove Days
July 16 is packed with variety. Highlights include Dancin’ On Broadway dancers at 11:20 a.m., a duct-tape fashion show at 11:40 a.m. and the Fabulous Armadillos (an eight-piece band) at 3 p.m. Don’t miss their top-notch cover of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing.
3) Crimson Music Festival
Nothing goes together better than free live music and the outdoors. In this second annual music festival, enjoy jazz, R&B, pop and soul from a trio of talented groups: Kathleen Johnson’s Best Kept Secret (BKS), The Kimberly Michaels Band and The Taylor Baggott Band. Concessions will be provided by The Lookout Bar & Grill and the Town Green concessions stand. The festival runs from 6-10 p.m. on August 13.
4) Tribute to Bob Dylan
Adding their own twang to the beloved songs of Dylan is Blood on The Tracks, a band that plays in the name of Guitars for Vets. The group is a nonprofit group that give guitars and music instruction for free, so that they can heal with music. The concert is sure to have you humming on the drive home. Tribute concert from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. August 17.
5) Movies by Moonlight
Cap off the workweek with a Friday night flick, showing favorites of yesteryear. Coming soon to an outdoor theatre near you: The Goonies on July 22, The Wizard of Oz on July 29, Toy Story 3 on August 19 and Jaws on August 26. All movies begin at sunset.
