Jeff Geisinger set out on a photography expedition to the “uneven bridge” one afternoon in June—a bridge that he and his wife had wandered across during one of their many walks through the neighborhood. He modestly insists his passion for photography is just an enjoyable hobby, but his skills flourish beyond the average snapshot.
Taken with a Nikon Coolpix L100, Geisinger captured a few images of the crooked, wooden footbridge. Its natural beauty was revealed in post-production using Photomatix Pro for PC. He combined the images, all of which had different exposures, to create an HDR image—bringing out the details in both the highlights and shadows of the image.
Uneven Bridge went on to finish second in the wildlife and nature category of the 2012 Focus on Maple Grove Photo Contest. “I was very happy and elated,” he says of the first publication of one of his images.
