Now’s a great time to check out what neighborhood golf course will be your standby for the season. For Aaron Jacobson, it’s Rush Creek Golf Club.
Jacobson traveled far and wide as a young standout golfer, playing for Gustavus Adolphus College, and has taught golf in Mississippi and Arizona.
As director of instruction at Rush Creek, Jacobson gives private lessons day in and day out. “I really enjoy people getting better during a lesson,” he says. “It’s quite rewarding.” And a golf gig has its perks: “A great thing about this job is that I have an outside office.”
Join in May 14, and take the kids out for junior golf day. It’s free to drop by from 1 to 3 p.m., and future Arnold Palmers can join a driving range clinic, a chipping contest and be fitted for clubs with a manufacturing rep.
Interested in the variety of lessons at Rush Creek? Jacobson notes that children as young as 3 years old can be a part of the club’s junior program, Lil’ Whippers. There’s also women-only lessons. And more serious golfers will find a friend in the technology at Rush Creek. Jacobson and his fellow Class A PGA member Luke Benoit use video analysis software to visually show a breakdown of each golf swing.
