With summer right around the corner, people start thinking more about beer. There are some varieties out there that the casual craft beer drinker may not have heard of. Here’s what you should know.
Brewing Projeckt (Eau Claire) Resist Milkshake IPA: Milkshake IPAs pump up the volume on fruit additions, unfermented sugars and adjuncts, such as vanilla. This creates a creamy, full-bodied texture and bold opacity that’s pretty similar to what you slurp at a malt shop. (This is one of the best.)
Drekker (Fargo) Ectogasm New England Style IPA: The haze craze is here and not going away. New England IPAs are beers that are purposely hazy or cloudy, which can give these brews a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. With little to no hop bitterness at the end, it utilizes hops that impart a tropical, juicy sweetness, rather than the classic bitter, dank or citrusy flavors West Coast IPA lovers have come to expect.
