Book Review: 'Split Second'

'Split Second' Novel Cover

There are many ways to select “the best” of anything, and in this case, I’ve chosen the single book which has the most lifetime circulations at the Maple Grove Library: Split Second by Fern Michaels, with 166 checkouts!

Michaels’ books often feature women overcoming adversity and Split Second is no exception. The teenage heroine, Angela, has been troubled by premonitions of disaster since she was a young child. (Visions in which her mother mockingly dismisses, and her father is too busy to listen to.) Now Angela has foreseen the local mall exploding, and the only person who pays attention considers her a suspect for the potential bombing. Michaels expertly draws the reader into the lives of Angela and her other characters, and the fast-paced suspense will keep the pages turning.

If you enjoy Luanne Rice, Barbara Delinsky, Jenny Colgan or Robyn Carr you will be delighted to discover Michaels.
