Hot. Stinging. Burning. Gritty. These are all descriptions of the sensation felt when experiencing dry eye syndrome (DES). Luckily, Dry Eye Clinic in the Arbor Lakes Medical Building in Maple Grove offers the newest way to prevent this discomfort.
Dr. Michael Dieter started this new stand-alone clinic that focuses on DES after personally experiencing the condition himself nearly 10 years ago. After practicing general optical work for more than 30 years, Dieter decided to narrow his focus solely to dry eye syndrome.
“This is what I’m excited about,” Dieter says. “It allows me to divert all of my energy to one complex field.”
Since the clinic’s opening in August 2014, Dieter has used his eye therapy methods, including tissue hydration and nutrition, to soothe and comfort his patients and advise them on future steps to control the syndrome.
