Catch Gary Louris, Gear Daddies and Karen Grotberg of the Jayhawks live at the Hilde!

Gear Daddies are an Americana rock band originally hailing from Austin, Minnesota, playing their first shows together in 1984. The band has released three popular albums and have been a seminal part of the Twin Cities music scene for nearly three decades, continuing to draw huge crowds. Many of the fan’s most memorable songs (“Stupid Boy,” “Color of Her Eyes,” “She’s Happy,” and many others) are credited to the exceptionally passionate lyrics of lead singer and songwriter Martin Zellar.

Gary Louris is a founding member of one of this generation’s most prolific bands, The Jayhawks.  Formed in Minneapolis in 1985, they transcend the musical genres of alternative rock, country, Americana and pop. Louris released a critically lauded solo record produced by Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, has written for luminaries like Dixie Chicks and recorded and toured with fellow Jayhawks member and songwriter Mark Olson.
