Maple Grove girls take on science.
Maple Grove residents Madeline Orzeske and Anisha Dharnipragada were honored to attend the 2013 Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama this year. Brief feedback on their experience highlights this unique opportunity to attend sessions addressing current issues in science, technology and engineering (STEM). While there they engaged in interactive activities like simulating jet-fighter pilot training, scenario-based space missions, designing, building and testing their own rockets and meeting with top scientists, engineers and former astronauts to reinforce core leadership competencies and first-hand accounts of professional experiences.
