Instead of Feeling Dread, Junior and Senior High School Students Celebrate the Prospect of Another School Year

The end of summer draws nigh, and the prospect of starting the school year can be daunting. However, amid the back-to-school shopping and juggling of school supply lists, you’ll find teens in the Maple Grove area transforming a time of transition into a great excuse to party.

Join area teens for a fun, end-of-summer celebration when the Maple Grove Teen Center transforms into a night club just for teenagers. Along with snacks and games, with prizes for winners, a live DJ will spin tunes for dancing and some hanging out in a VIP lounge. Visit the Teen Center during the week of August 21 to learn how to become a VIP.

No need to dress up, just show up. Each year 60 to 80 teens celebrate during this marker of the upcoming school year. You might even meet new people before you see them in math or history class.

Can’t wait for celebration day? Drop by the Teen Center for computer classes, anime club, card games and video games, a game of air hockey or pool or a round of karaoke with friends followed by a movie on the big screen or Xbox 360 (don’t forget your student ID).
