Briana Jorgensen wants you to go for it. The Maple Grove photographer started her business without any formal training, taking pictures with a point-and-shoot camera. She went to school to be a graphic designer, ended up falling in love with photography and turned her passion into Briana Dale Design.
She started at the bottom, doing free photo packages for friends and family, slowly building a portfolio, marketing herself online, and using word of mouth to gain clients and make money. She now primarily shoots weddings, engagements and family portraits for all ages.
Her photography doesn’t stop with her work, however—far from it. Jorgensen often has a camera in hand, finding inspiration in the world around her and taking shots of nature scenes. This beautiful photo of Fish Lake was taken from her parents’ house. Jorgensen often sits outside watching the sunset, snapping pictures; this one ended up being one of her favorites.
“I love taking photos of sunsets,” Jorgensen says. And, one of her favorite places to go is down by the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. On her website are several stunning photos of the Mill City Museum and old Minneapolis architecture near the bridge. “I just really love the old feeling and the artistic feel,” Jorgensen says of the Stone Arch Bridge area.
Jorgensen literally carries her passion with her—in the form of a camera—capturing the little joys around her each and every day.
