A Local School Comes Together Once Again for a Great Cause

Folks of all ages enjoy games and camaraderie to benefit school, community.

A festive event is on the horizon as Primrose School of Maple Grove hosts its 10th Spring Fling Carnival and Charity Fundraiser. Celebrating the school, children, families and the community, it’s the largest event for the school, and many in the community look forward to it. “We focus on family, fun and education. It is also a social event to bring people together, so they can get to know one another,” says Joe Piket, owner of Primrose. “All the money raised is split two ways: The first half goes to a local charity of our choice, and the second half goes to the Primrose Children’s Foundation,” he says.

Teachers work together to create carnival games for participants, and local businesses are encouraged to support the school’s efforts by offering goods and services for the carnival. There will be a magician, face painter and DJ playing fun tunes. Home safety lessons, offered by local law enforcement and fire departments, make learning enjoyable. A silent auction will also take place, and bidders can compete for a wide variety of items. Participants also may make donations, which go directly to the chosen charity for this year.
