All-you-can-eat doesn’t have to be about grazing on a long line of buffet eats that have been wasting away in chafing dishes. Two new restaurants, Rodizio Grill and Kyoto Sushi, are upping the class factor on the high-value concept, with inviting ambiance and full table service.
Brazilian Flair
At Rodizio Grill, scheduled to open in coming months in The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, the action around you adds just as much to the experience as your company. Meat cutters dressed as gauchos make their way through the dining room with a large selection of rotisserie meats, like maminha, a seasoned tri-tip sirloin, and frango agri doce, a sweet and spicy chicken. While the meat takes center stage, grilled fruits and vegetables, like glazed grilled pineapple, along with a full soup and salad bar, are included at the price of $31.95 per head. Elements of the décor evoke the spirit of Brazil, from dark Brazilian cherry woods creating a steakhouse feel to the vibrant artwork lining the walls, says operating partner Mike Stead.
On a Roll
Kyoto isn’t the first to offer all-you-can-eat sushi, but with 100-plus menu items, this six-month-old restaurant has got to be one of the most comprehensive. For $14.99 at lunch and $24.99 at dinner, get your fill of teriyaki, sashimi (dinner only), nigiri and rolls. Popular rolls include the #9 with shrimp tempura and salmon, and the snow mountain with shrimp tempura and crab. But you’ll also want to experience the temaki or hand rolls, shaped like an ice cream cone and filled with options like spicy tuna, unagi, sweet potato or avocado. Wine and beer are served, and the décor is warm and inviting, with stone, warm woods and earth tones.
