Jim and Donna Hawley have owned Maple Grove Pearle Vision for a year and a half, and apparently that’s all this locally-owned franchise needed to climb to the top of the national charts.
Maple Grove Pearle Vision is ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to the company’s 2011 sales volume figures. Credit goes to the leadership and on down the chain. Brooke Edwards, the store’s general manager, also happens to be Jim and Donna’s daughter.
As Maple Grove residents the Hawleys take great pride in being active in the local community. They are involved in Helping Paws Animal Shelter and CROSS Food Shelf, they take the Maple Grove Polar Plunge (each February) at Weaver Lake to benefit Special Olympics, they also donate services to assisted living communities, belong to the Maple Grove Rotary, donate time to One Sight and collect glasses for those in need. Look for their sponsorship of local sports teams listed on the Zambonis at area ice arenas because 50 percent of the profit goes right back to the community, according to Donna.
“If there is no community,” says Donna, “then there is no business.”
