A Brief History of The Lookout Bar and Grill

The Lookout Bar and Grill has been a family affair for over 50 years.

For over half a century, The Lookout Bar and Grill has been serving up delicious family recipes from scratch, and live entertainment for Maple Grove residents.

It was all family-owned farmland back in the 50’s, but Bob Kinnan quickly transformed the grassy fields and farm-storage building into a hopping bar, with beer at 30 cents a bottle and set-ups at 20 cents a glass. A couple of years later, entertainment appeared in the form of live country music every night of the week, with a lineup including the Clyde Harris Trio, Mel Tillis, Jim Feeney, Les Cunningham and many more.

From there, the Lookout grew to include the Kinnan family, not to mention an extensive home-cooked menu passed down from generation to generation, a huge outdoor patio, varied live entertainment (with live DJs and karaoke) and so much more that makes this restaurant a true Maple Grove experience.
