Osseo’s April Tatur was helping design a showroom for her husband’s company, Advanced Home Improvement, when she found her niche for switch-plate design. In 2004 she started Turn It On Designs, a web-based business that creates handmade, one-of-a-kind switch plates for any room in your house. Themes include cotton candy, classic chic, purely elegant, terrific tiger, classic rooster and more. Tatur has even developed celebrity clientele after her products were featured in gift bags for a Los Angeles event, MTV’s Celebrity Gift Suites.
