This marks the ninth year that the Maple Grove Lions will host a charity golf event, including a Mayor's Cup Golf Challenge at Pheasant Acres Golf Course in Rogers.
“The Mayor’s Cup Golf Challenge started two years ago when the Maple Grove Lions and the Maple Grove Rotary Club came together to enjoy a day of golf, charity and fun,” says Dick Kentzelman, chairman of the Maple Grove Lions charity golf committee.
The presidents of each group challenge each other for best score, and the winning team receives the mayor’s plaque. Each club raises over $5,000 for a charitable purpose. The money raised by the Lions goes to worthy causes including the Lions Vision Foundation, the Lions Hearing Foundation and the Lions Leader Dog program.
