Bethel University senior and defensive lineman Nathan Hultgren has had quite the football career. Hultgren, a 2012 graduate from Maranatha Christian Academy, started out as a defensive linebacker, but finished his senior year on the starting offensive lineup with honorable mention for all-conference. In college he backed up the starting nose guard until his senior year, when he became the starter.
Hultgren was named one of 12 linemen honored and chosen for a 2015 All-West Region Team and one of four to be chosen for the Second Team. The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAC) recognizes players based on performance and coach recommendations. “It’s been fun for us to watch,” says Nathan’s mother, Martha Hultgren. “He really enjoys the game and really poured his heart into it; his hard work paid off.”
