Two Maple Grove Senior High graduates play at the college level. Having graduated in 2013, Jordan Gross played hockey for Notre Dame. Jake Wienke graduated just a year after Gross and went on to become the receiving football captain for South Dakota State University.
Both student athletes say Maple Grove prepared them well for college. Gross is a business major in management consulting at Notre Dame.
“I think Maple Grove prepared me as well as a high school could,” Wienke says. “That goes for both on the field and in the classroom. High school classes were tough, so when I came to college I felt ready for the challenge.”
Wienke graduated from college in December and Gross expects to graduate this spring.
