Meet Landon Robert Wold. He was born May 7, 2013, at 6:59 p.m. and will forever be known as “baby 10,000” at Maple Grove Hospital. He is welcomed by parents Jessica and Nate Wold, who were surprised to find that they were part of this landmark birth.
Having been open more than three years, the family birth center at Maple Grove Hospital has seen a lot of “active labor.” In that short time, staff have:
- added four new labor and delivery suites, for a total of 10 private suites
- doubled the capacity of their newborn and special care nurseries (from 18 to 36 beds)
- added two spa tub suites offering new moms a calming space fully equipped with spa-like amenities such as relaxing music and soft linens
It was no surprise that Landon emerged in May. The numbers had been pointing to the date, and, at, 6 lbs. 15 oz., the Wolds definitely delivered! Congratulations, to Landon and the other 9,999 babies born in our community of lately. —Cyd Haynes
