Maple Grove resident Lisa Beckendorf is a 15-year pancreatic cancer survivor—one of only 6 percent who survive this deadly diagnosis. She is also the event coordinator for the annual PurpleRide-Twin Cities, sponsored by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, which takes place Sunday, September 15 in Elm Creek Regional Park. Beckendorf is excited to make this year's ride bigger and better than ever! PurpleRide-Twin Cites fundraiser has raised more than $2 million to date and hosts more than 1,000 riders each year. Did you know? PurpleRide-Twin Cities is completely volunteer run. There’s another autumnal event coming up, the PurpleLight vigil honoring and remembering those fighting and who have lost the battle against pancreatic cancer, at dusk at the State Capital on October 27.
