Riding for Fun

Surge Cycling opens second metro area location.

Originally founded in 2013, Surge Cycling opened its second Twin Cities location in Maple Grove in January. A duplicate version of the first studio in St. Louis Park, Surge Cycling offers a variety of classes and steers clear of the “one-size-fits-all” mentality. “In all classes, instructors do a nice job of making sure everyone in class is able to modify to their own needs,” says operations manager Emily Ritter. Course options include performance cycling, tabata, sculpt—with dumbbells, tabata and choreographed hip hop.

Surge Cycling focuses on creating community, and that makes it stand out against other fitness studios. “We get to know our riders pretty well and it’s like a family sort of atmosphere,” Ritter says. The inclusion of state-of-the-art sound and music create the perfect atmosphere for a fit, fun workout experience.
