Variety for a Cause

Annual fundraiser helps graduating seniors.

The Wastebasket Revue variety show returned for its 47th year this spring to
raise money for graduating seniors in the Osseo Area School District. A
volunteer production, 300 district employees and friends participated on stage
and behind the scenes.

Started in 1967, the show was created to raise money for scholarships and to
provide a setting for teachers to meet peers within the district. The name
“Wastebasket Review” was coined at a writing meeting because more ideas were
thrown in the wastebasket than were used in that first show.

This year’s show, WBR 2.0: Not the Same Old Song and Dance, raised $40,000,
resulting in 20 scholarships.wastebasketrevue.org
