A New Farmers Market in Town

Two markets means twice the taste for Maple Grove.

The Maple Grove Farmers Market, organized by the City of Maple Grove in 2004 and stationed outside of the Maple Grove Community Center (12951 Weaver Lake Rd.), needs little introduction. With over 50 vendors and a slew of dedicated shoppers in attendance every Thursday in the summer months through Oct. 20, it’s easy to see why it was rated as one of the Best Farmers Markets in the Twin Cities by CBS.

But there’s a new market in town. Warners’ Stellian (12772 Bass Lake Rd.) and other Bass Lake Center tenants are now hosting a market of their own on Tuesdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. through Sept. 6. The new Bass Lake Center Farmers Market has no affiliation with the traditional Maple Grove Farmers Market.

The new market’s vendors include: Butterfly Gardens (plants and flowers), Border/Frontera Tacos Food Truck, Gastrotruck Food Truck, Wildtree (seasonings, oils, foods), CeCe Designs (earrings, hats, art), Thao Farms, Doua Yang’s Flowers and Herbs, Yer Yang’s Flowers and Produce, Kha Xiong Produce, Ma & Jamie Lee Vegetables and Herbs, Vang’s Cut Flowers and Vegetables and Sito’s Catering (Lebanese Food).

There’s definitely room in Maple Grove for two markets. The residents will be the big-time benefactors.
