Maple Grove is the newest chapter to join the Minnesota Lyme Association. The local chapter, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will host presentations and bring in experts concerning Lyme-related issues.

MLA-Maple Grove will also provide opportunities for small group and private discussions regarding the challenges and complexities associated with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the tick-borne disease.

Academic awards are extremely difficult to earn. But for a lucky few there's a tangible reward for those stressful hours spent hitting the books, making the extra effort worth it.

Maple Grove’s Zoe Tu would agree. Tu was selected as a 2014 U.S. Presidential Scholar, truly one of the highest honors a student can receive, this spring. Tu, a senior at Wayzata High School, was one of three students from Minnesota to be named a Presidential Scholar. This year, only 141 students across America were given the honor, becoming the 50th class of Presidential Scholars.

Full of family-friendly fun, the Maple Grove Geocache Adventure will expose an entirely new side of the city in which we live. You'll learn things about your surroundings that you never imagined and visit places you didn't know existed. You may even meet a fellow adventurer who has come to town to join in on the fun (just be careful not to give away your most recent secret find).

With two much larger brothers growing up, I scampered away from fights. I never could get up on water skis. We have a pool in my backyard and a cabin up north where swimming is recreational and relaxing. I have never won a gold medal. Athletes and Maple Grove area residents Amanda Bluford, Jenny Kaldor and Madison Rundell earned the latter in taekwondo, water skiing and swimming last year.

After chatting with the three young athletes, I learned that age is just a number. All three experienced incredible achievements last year. As a 22-year-old, all are also younger than I am.

Welcome to the new Maple Grove Magazine website! We are thrilled to unveil this radical makeover after nearly a year of dreaming, planning, coding and tweaking. We hope you enjoy the new look as much as we do.

During the process of coming up with this design, we came up with a few words that describe our monthly magazine. Engaging. Catchy. Open. Clean. Forward.

dpHUE

Yesterday, I learned to color my own hair. Not from the side of a box found in a friendly pharmacy aisle, mind you, but from the professional color advisers and educators at dpHUE, previously located next door in Maple Grove and now exclusively online and in Edina at 50th and France.
