Enjoy lights, shopping, reindeer, santa and more at several upcoming community events.

Tis the season to combat the frosty weather with festive holiday events, and Maple Grove has plenty to get you in the spirit. Gather with friends, family and other members of the community at these events:

 

Winter Wonderland at The Shoppes Dec. 10&11

If holiday shopping can’t boost the economy, nothing can…aside from maybe Santa's magic. Luckily The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes has all of the above with a weekend full of festive activities:

Dec. 10:

-9 a.m.: Breakfast with Santa at California Pizza Kitchen. Reservations are required, as space is limited. For pricing or to purchase tickets, call 763.424.0504 x4. 

-10 a.m. -2 p.m.: Visit live reindeer in Arbor Park. Don’t forget your camera!

-Carolers roaming along the festive walkways of The Shoppes

Dec. 11:

-Holiday Bazaar featuring one-of-a-kind offerings from local artists, hosted by the Maple Grove Arts Council (see below for more details)

-Special offers and samples from retailers

 

Maple Grove Arts Council’s Holiday Bazaar Dec. 10-11

Local artists will be at The Shoppes (12059 Elm Creek Blvd, former Border’s location) selling handcrafted jewelry, paintings, photography, fiber arts and other unique works that make great holiday gifts. Plus, you can enjoy refreshments while children can join in on some art activities. Piano music will be performed during the event by students of the Northwest Suburban Music Teachers Association, and the Teddy Bear Band will perform at 3:30 p.m. on December 11. Bazaar hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. December 10, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. December 11.  

 

Light the Grove at Maple Grove Hospital Dec. 8

This second annual holiday event at the Maple Grove Hospital will feature a lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., holiday carols, reindeer, horse-drawn trolley rides, cookies and hot cocoa. Also, new this year, you can visit with Santa and get a free collectable holiday gift. This event is free to the public, and guests are welcome to bring non-perishable food items to donate to CROSS Food Shelf.  The event goes from 5-7 p.m. outside the hospital entrance (9875, Hospital Drive).
