Will Agar and Matt Scherfenberg may seem to differ in every aspect of their process. Will, a traditional photographer who works wherever he finds the shot and the light. Matt, on the other hand could well be described as an experimental photographer, working almost exclusively in studio with artificial light. When Matt was Will’s student 20 years ago, it was not his techniques and methods that so inspired Matt, but rather his love of aesthetics and his flowing perfection in the performance of photography. While their methods may be different, both strive to communicate something beautiful and pleasing. This show is a selection of their images in pairs, selected for matching forms or texture.
The Maple Grove Arts Center is a non-profit community arts initiative serving the northwest suburbs of the Minneapolis metropolitan area. “Our mission is to create relationships among artists and share in a fun and unique experience within the community in which they live and work.
