The Cross Community Players (CCP) is bringing a production of The Pirates of Penzance to Osseo Senior High. One of Gilbert and Sullivan’s best-loved works, Pirates tells a tale of sentimental pirates, bumbling policeman, dim-witted young lovers and an eccentric major general. It’s a classic production that shouldn’t be missed. It’s been regaling audience members since its debut in New York City in 1879. Along with The Mikado and H.M.S. Pinafore, it is one of the most frequently played Gilbert and Sullivan operas.
The production of this operetta is a new and exciting challenge for the CCP, pulling group members out of their comfort zones, as they have previously focused on Broadway musicals.
Throughout the years, CCP has served the community by providing family-friendly theatrical and musical experiences.
This organization is a unique, close-knit group of individuals that truly enjoy what it provides to the community. Christopher Zanetti, president of CCP, says his favorite part of the program is, “to see the faces in the audience with true joy and emotion from what we created; if you can imagine it, you can create it.”

CCP collects canned goods and school supplies for local food shelves. It also has donated a portion of ticket sales for those in need.
