School District 279 will host its annual Night Out this month to raise funds for area schools. Last February, this event raised $20,000. “The foundation, over the last few years, has used the funds for literacy programming as well as classroom grants that help enrich the work that teachers and staff are doing in their classroom,” says Susan Wineland, the development director at the foundation.

This year’s Night Out theme honors a milestone anniversary. Night of Inspiration celebrates the 25th anniversary of the district, which was founded in 1991.

This gala-style celebration on February 10 includes a silent auction, dinner and opportunity to socialize. There will also be live entertainment featuring student music groups, linking the district to its mission to support and enrich students.
