Step Into 11 Gorgeous Gardens at the 2019 Hennepin County Master Gardener Learning Garden Tour

Are you looking for garden inspiration? Are you a garden enthusiast looking for a great way to spend a beautiful summer day? Join us for the Hennepin County Master Gardeners’ annual Learning
Garden Tour beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Coordinated by volunteers in the University of Minnesota Master Gardener Volunteer Program – Hennepin County, this year’s self-guided tour showcases 11 gardens in Edina, Excelsior, Golden Valley, Minnetonka, and St. Louis Park.

The annual event features unique home gardens designed and tended by Master Gardener volunteers, as well as a community garden. Learn while you explore the gardens and educational demonstrations at each location such as hydroponics, native plants, and composting. Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to answer your gardening questions and provide helpful information. Also enjoy food trucks at select stops, the Book Nook with a variety of books for kids and adults, and the Garden Shed offering fun and useful gardening inspired accessories.

The Learning Garden Tour is special in that the gardens are not show gardens but each one a unique labor of love. While we Master Gardeners are teachers at heart, we are also lifelong students open to finding new solutions and inspiration. Come learn with us,” said Rhonda Fleming Hayes, author of
“Pollinator Friendly Gardening,” chapter author of “Gardening Complete: How to best grow vegetables, flowers, and other outdoor plants,” as well as a Hennepin County Master Gardener Volunteer.

Single tickets are $15 in advance; $20 on the day of the tour. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Children under 12 get in free with a paying adult. The tour is held rain or shine.
