If you are looking for some creative inspiration, you will find that—and more—by attending the Maple Grove Quilters Quilt Show, Friends of a Feather Quilt Together. More than 100 quilts of all shapes, sizes and designs will be displayed during the two-day event.
The show features a variety of quilt styles made by the members of Maple Grove Quilters and also includes a Guild Challenge Exhibit, where members receive a fat quarter of fabric to create something that is quilt-related. Attendees get in the game by voting for their favorite quilts.
The guild will raffle off a queen-size quilt, created by guild members. This year’s raffle quilt holds special meaning and memories for the Maple Grove Quilters. Just over two years ago, the guild lost one of its long-time members, Paula Boatright. She was a cherished member, who is greatly missed.
Raffle tickets are $1 and can be purchased before the show from a guild member or at the show. (The group also made a secondary, smaller quilt.) Additionally, the show will have a boutique with items for sale. Items include tote bags, wall hangings, potholders, tissue covers, hand-painted thimbles, pillowcases, zipper bags, table runners, pillows, purses and many other items.
The Noble Quilter from Elk River and Red Pine Quilt Shop from Detroit Lakes will be on hand with fabrics, patterns and notions for sale, in addition to showing product and technique demonstrations in their booths.
