Peruse glittering pieces of jewelry, scan the luxurious colors of paintings and glassware, create art yourself for free and meet real artists. This year’s Maple Grove Days Art Fair has a work of art for everyone in the family, whether the kids make it themselves or you buy it from a talented local vendor. Since 2000, the Maple Grove Arts Center has managed this crafty event, which involves between 50 and 70 artists each summer. Picked through a jury process, artists are the best of the best. “The Maple Grove Art Fair is known as one of the better art fairs in the cities,” says Lorrie Link, committee chair of the Art Fair. “We have watercolor artists, a guy who makes bird houses, painters, an artist who makes mirrors into shapes, and artists who design their own jewelry from scratch,”Link says.
Kids can join in on the fun with a free craft opportunity. The art fair is located between Elm Creek Blvd. and Arbor Lakes Parkway on July 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and July 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
