If you see me at the Maple Grove Community Center on Sept. 10 sniffing and swirling a glass of wine with a raised eyebrow and a sophisticated look that says “Yes…I see, I see,” be assured, I have no idea what I’m drinking.
But I’m never one to shy away from tastings, and that goes for anything edible, from foreign foods, to wine to whisky. That’s what makes the Taste of Maple Grove an ideal atmosphere for a guy like me. With nearly 20 different local restaurants offering food, I plan on “tasting” three days worth of meals. And that’s after the wine seminar (from 5:30-7 p.m.).
Of course, as a proud Crimson alumnus, I’m also happy to support the MGSH dance team, crowned 2011 state champs in jazz. They’ve built quite a following throughout the years, and with nearly 700 tickets sold last year, they clearly don’t need my charity.
But I’ve never been one to turn down a taste, and neither should you. Join the fun, which also includes music, a silent auction, a raffle and a cash bar. And if you see me holding a glass with that look on my face, don’t hesitate to call my bluff.
