Celebrate seasonal style as the red carpet is rolled out for the fifth annual Maple Grove Senior Fashion Show. “I enjoy this event more and more each year,” says Brenda Krapfl of the Maple Grove parks and recreation department. “It’s a great opportunity for Maple Grove seniors to flaunt outfits they are proud of and to showcase local businesses.”
With about 20 active older adults volunteering as runway models each year, there is a lot of organizing to be done by Krapfl and her team. In the months before the show, participants coordinate with The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes to suit up in the hottest summer trends. “It’s a great chance to get [seniors] beyond their comfort zone,” Krapfl says.
