Chris Spah is always seeking out new spots to take photos. You may remember his photo of West Arbor Lake in the January 2016 issue. Last summer, Spah was able to attend Maple Grove Days for his second year in a row and he definitely plans on attending again this year, too.
His father owns a classic car, so during his first year in attendance Spah stuck around the car show area and didn’t visit much else. “I found out there’s so much more going on,” he says, “so my second year, I hardly hung out at the car show at all.” At the craft fair in particular, Spah was struck by the large crowd of friendly people and interesting, unique vendor booths. “I just wandered around and snapped a lot of photos,” he says. His photo of the fair won second place in the Activities & Events category of Maple Grove Magazine’s photo contest.
This summer, Spah is excited to explore more “hidden gems” around the community. He loves seeing all the cool nooks and crannies Maple Grove has to offer. In particular, he notes the seasonal changes at Elm Creek Park Reserve. “Every season it looks different out there, so it’s always cool to see and explore new things.”
The Maple Grove Arts Fair takes place on Main Street, July 16, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and July 17, 11 a.m.-4 a.m.
