It’s common knowledge that one should dress for success, especially when working toward a professional career. Most employers would prefer an applicant wear a suit rather than blue jeans. But what happens to those who can’t afford professional attire?
Enter Versique, a Minneapolis-based consulting and executive search firm. Versique works to create connections between job seekers and employers. On April 22 Versique kicked off its fourth annual women’s Dress for Success Twin Cities drive to provide disadvantaged women with professional attire to aid them in their career development.
Last year Versique’s drive collected the largest donation to the Twin Cities branch of Dress for Success, with 62 large bags of clothing and four full clothing racks. The drive will run through May 7, and will provide clothing donations and interview workshops for women.
The Dress for Success drive will end with a happy hour at the Versique offices on May 7th from 4-7pm. This event is open to the public, and will include live music by Tim Mahoney, a silent auction, networking opportunities, and hors d’oeuvres. Participants may make a clothing or financial donation during the drive or at the happy hour event.
See the event registration page for more details on what apparel will and will not be accepted, and register for the happy hour event while you’re there.
