It’s seven minutes past midnight. The neighbor’s dog is dead. Christopher is a suspect. Moving to clear his name and solve the mystery, Yellow Tree Theatre’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time presents the 15-year-old as he moves beyond his physical and mental boundaries and into a world he’s mostly avoided.
Christopher, the teen, is a mathematical genius, who has never ventured alone beyond the edge of his road, detests being touched, rebuffs small talk and shuns disruption of his ritualized world. This play, based on the novel by Mark Haddon, has been called “intense, hopeful and profoundly moving” and its Broadway production received five Tony Awards, including Best Play.
The performance runs through October 13. Show times include 7:30 p.m. Wednesday–Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday; and 2 p.m. October 5 and 12. Ticket prices vary. (Students, seniors 65 and older and groups of 10 or more receive $3 off regular prices.)
Take note: This play contains some strong language. (It is based on a novel that is often taught in high schools.) Yellow Tree Theatre recommends audience members are at least teenagers to attend. More information is available by contacting the box office at 763.493.8733.
