Device Pitstop Hosts Cell Phone Drive for Soldiers Overseas

Cell phones of all makes and models are welcome at Device Pitstop’s first annual cell phone drive this month. The computer retail and repair store is partnering with Cell Phones for Soldiers, a national nonprofit organization which turns old devices and monetary donations into prepaid talking minutes for soldiers overseas to communicate with their families back home.

“We’re hoping to have great success with it and we plan to do it for many years to come,” says Maple Grove Device Pitstop co-owner Brad Swenson. Between its five locations, Device Pitstop hopes to receive 500 phones to donate.

A $5 donation gifts a soldier with two and a half hours of time to speak with their family and friends across the world.
