Wadada Leo Smith: “America’s National Parks” for jazz quartet

Avant-garde jazz trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith, a 2013 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for music, and his Golden Quintet will grace the McGuire theater with an original suite inspired by the history and controversies around America’s revered natural areas.

Leonard Bernstein’s Candide presented by VocalEssence and Theater Latté Da

Romance and comedy abound in this theatrical concert version of the classic operetta, originally adapted from a work by Voltaire. The VocalEssence Ensemble Singers and Chorus, accompanied by a full orchestra, present a rousing “opera for the people.”
