Edge up to the deepest canyon on the surface of the Earth. Take a bullet train to Shanghai. Recall political strife of the not-so-distant past with a visit to Tiananmen Square. From the traditional to the ultra-modern and the agrarian to the industrial, filmmaker Dale Johnson explores the manmade marvels and natural wonders of this prominent world power. Johnson’s travelogue invites reflection on some common myths and misperceptions about the planet’s most populous country as well as the rapidly changing culture of its 1.3 billion inhabitants. Performances by local vocal groups precede each screening, with the Park Brook Elementary Choir performing at 3 p.m. and the Children’s Chorus at 7 p.m.  $7 adults; $6 seniors 55 and older; $5 children. 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. Osseo Senior High School, Enid Norsted Auditorium, 317 Second Ave. NW; 763.391.7119; osseo.thatscommunityed.com.
