T-ball is a great introduction to baseball which focuses on basic skills and teamwork, but most of all on having fun. Kids have the chance to field the ball, make plays and hit balls either from a tee stand or from a coach’s pitch.
This photo, entitled T-ball Teammate, won honorable mention in the 2017 Focus on Maple Grove photo contest. The children featured are Roman Smith, Hannah Howard and Lucas Adamczyk. The cousins live in different corners of the city but signed up for a league in the middleso they could play together.
“I think the children had lots of fun; they love being with other kids, running the bases and hitting the ball,” says Roman’s mother, Megan Smith, who captured this image.
The season runs about six weeks, June through July, when a few hundred kids play at different fields around Maple Grove. This was Roman’s first year, Hannah’s second year and Lucas’s third year of playing summer T-ball.
If someone in your family is interested in T-ball, check the summer Parks and Recreation brochure at the website here.
