Newborn fashion trends tailor-made for fall.
Louis James Roehl

Since Maple Grove Hospital opened at the end of 2009, over 1,700 boys have been born at the Birth Center. This year Frankie, Louie and Eli joined us, and we celebrate their arrival with some of the latest fashion-forward, hip and trendy baby clothes.

Maple Grove Magazine: How did you pick this name?

Kelly: We found out we were pregnant two weeks after my Grandpa Louie passed away so it just seemed right.

Louie is such a strong boy! When he was born, he spent his first two days in the special care nursery due to respiratory issues and concern with possible infection. He recovered so quickly the amazing doctors and nurses let us take him home on time. Since coming home, Louie continues to amaze us with his strength and curiosity. He loves to look around at everything and everyone and has been holding his head up for a few weeks now to make sure he doesn’t miss anything. He is our whole world and we are so blessed to have him!

Elias Akinkunmi Litan
3-25-2014
8 lbs., 12 oz., 22 inches
Elizabeth Blackhawk and Adeniyi (Dane) Litan

Maple Grove Magazine: How did you pick this name?

Elizabeth: While pregnant, before I knew I was carrying a boy, I dreamt I had a son named Eli. His middle name was given to honor his late uncle.

Eli came into the world with his eyes wide open. I remember looking at him from across the room as the nurses cleaned him up and took his vitals; all I could see were his big brown eyes. The day I took him home, everyone was so mesmerized by how alert he was. Now that he’s growing and developing, he’s still that same alert little guy. Every morning we have the most meaningful conversations! He loves to smile and talk to anyone in his view, especially the ladies.

Franklin James Mahler
4-9-14
7 lbs., 2 oz., 21 inches
Kristina & James Mahler

Maple Grove Magazine: How did you pick this name?

Kristina: It was my Granddad’s name. Unfortunately, he passed the same day we found out we were having a boy.

I labored for 14 hours and never advanced past 2 cm. Then I suddenly went from 4 cm to 10 cm within 30 minutes. I pushed six times and he was here, a very mellow, happy baby. In May 2012, we were told by our doctor we would never conceive a baby. Well, we changed doctors, stayed positive and ended up with Frankie. Never say never.
